I've watched two episodes, and despite the terrible animation (another reason I dislike anime not named Last Exile) I guess I'll watch all of it.
However, 1/13th of the way through this thing I am getting the sinking feeling that there's not going to be a plot. That's very troubling. This isn't Seinfeld, it's a 26 episode anime. There should be a plot.
Also I do not like the main character in any way, shape, or form. I prefer any scene where he is not on screen. |

There's a meandering plot.
I really enjoyed it, but that's because I liked all of the characters besides Ed.

| How can a plot "meander" through the course of 26 20 minute episodes? That's like saying Harvey Birdman has a meandering plot. |

Most of the episodes don't relate to the main plot.

I'm definitely watching it, I want to know more about this "anime" phenomenon.
People seem to indicate that this is a popular and well-regarded one, so I'm diving in head first.
Then I'll watch Monster because Hank said it was The Wire of anime and The Wire is so good that no one would say that lightly. |

I finished it last night, what a excellent show. I'm not a big fan of the opening and the ending themes, but they fit the show. The animation style changes for some reason between the beginning and the ending of the show. The only reason I can think for why they would do this is to better show the passage of time, since the show takes place over an  year period.
EDIT:
Talked to my friend about it. Apparently it has nothing to do with the passage of time, and everything to do with the artist, especially since the anime is basically scene for scene, shot for shot identical to the manga.

Cowboy Bepop is pretty decent if you like that style of story... and I don't think that you do.

I said this to Liza already but...
These episodes play really, really short. Cutting out opening/ending, there's about 19 minutes of episode, and somehow they manage to play a bounty commercial, have one confrontation that fails and one that succeeds, and there's really not much else. I guess I would say the "pacing" is bad, but I'm not sure what that word means. |

Also, why is this kid immune to damage if the only thing special about him is a substance that makes him not age?
