So, apparently our good friend Kumar is now working for Obama. That means he's being written out of House, M.D., as we speak. I'm watching what may or may not be his last episode right now.
Edit: Yep, he's dead. He apparently shot himself in the head, and they don't even show his body on-screen. Fuck this. |

I know nothing of this show or this person, but what could he possibly be working on for the administration? |

I have to say, that was extremely rushed. I know the guy is working for Obama now, but seriously...they could have tried harder. |

I wouldn't touch that movie with a twelve-foot clown pole.
Oh. So it's government backscratching. |

No? You think actors can't be extremely talented at other things?
Natalie Portman went to Harvard, so she's better than all of us. |

Did Harvard teach her to be a terrible actress, or did she learn that all by herself? |

I really don't like Natalie Portman.
I have rather ambivalent, if supercilious, feelings toward this "Kumar" character. |

You just hate him because he's not white.
The movie was good, it was the feel good hit of the summer, and is a classic. I don't know what more you want from the guy. It's like the Office Space of its day. |

The impression I get from it is of a "stupid guy movie" (whence comes my supercilious feelings), and I have no desire to prove myself wrong. |

Even if it is that, which I might agree, so what? There's value in things even if you don't enjoy them personally. |

Damn it. Damn it. Damn it. I didn't think I could be double spoiler-ed :(
First I click the link on yahoo because the Obama-Kumar story seemed a little unusual, then I read down only to find out that the character on House killed himself.... and now I know how. (I pretty much only blame myself, though. I didn't think you people liked/watched House enough to know/care/discuss how the character dies.)
I haven't read beyond the first post in this thread, btw, in order to avoid further spoiling. Sigh. |

Oh don't worry, it happens about a quarter second into the episode.
The show is good, why wouldn't I watch it? I posted about it before when I first started watching it. |

I still haven't read any of the middle posts. And I'm not sure whether to count that as a 3rd spoiler....
But yeah, I mistakenly thought there was a collective doomcom hatred of House. (It's formulaic and perhaps something involving shallow and pedantic.) Maybe it's just Vernon that hates it.
Also, The Kumar-Obama thing is very weird, but it isn't maximally weird since he's one of those activist celebrities, I think. |
