I have to say, that is pretty funny, although I don't quite get it. I note that the gerbil things are in decreasing tones, but why are they on a carpet? |

| So, I've noticed that these Russian ones have way more text than your traditional English lolcat. Are they just not as funny? A lot of the humor is in the brevity... Is there Russian lolspeak? |

*shrug* Different cultures have different definitions of what is humorous. The English version of lolcats creates humor by spelling words phonetically instead of properly and using bad grammar. Russian words are already spelled phonetically, and it's hard to use bad grammar in Russian without losing your original meaning. Most of the captions are cute poems or mimicked conversations between the animals in the picture. |
