So it's time for the "Goddamn, I'm really bored at home" threads?
Also, I really don't think I can rank my favorite book. It would probably be something like this:
1. Blade of Tyshalle
2. Heroes Die
3. Heroes Die
4. Postmodern Magic
5. Heroes Die _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's because of something collective'. |

Actually he's writing a paper on DOOMPreferences.
But mine are:
1. The Lord of the Rings
2. Brave New World
3. The Book of the New Sun
4. 1984
5. The Awakening
Although I really do like Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, A Song of Ice and Fire, and the Iliad. |

Bah! 1984!
1984 should have come in after Dune on my list, bumping The Time Machine and The Lord of the Rings down, and knocking The Dispossessed off the list.
I can't believe that I forgot that bitch. _________________ When I am weaker than you, I ask you for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles.

That's why I can't make a serious list. God knows I will forget something I really liked. _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's because of something collective'. |

Heroes Die x5? How hard is that.
I can't pick 5, and I can't rank them, and I am giving some credit for a body of work, but here's a few I love:
CivilWarLand in Bad Decline by George Saunders
Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace (R.I.P.)
The Wooden Sea by Jonathon Carroll
Hey Nostradamus! by Douglas Coupland
Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk
The Book of Flying by Keith Miller
Of course, Dune, Lord of the Rings, and (a man for whom I have an undying love) Matthew Woodring Stover would be on the list. And I mean just the man himself, along with all his novels. |

Incidentally, I'm reading my first Philip K. Dick novel. I love his style. It makes me want to do drugs. |

I have to keep my body pure for my childbearing years. Maybe when I'm... 50.

The reason I want to do drugs is to have crazy creative trips like that guy must have... He has such interesting framing devices. |

It's funny because I'm basically reading a Christmas story, as told by Philip K. Dick. How appropriate. |
