I just read this beast again:
Solid. There was another of his books here too, but it was not quite as good. It was about, I think, fat Italian cooks. |

Isn't that what Where the Wild Things Are is about, too? _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's because of something collective'. |

"In the Night Kitchen"!?
I loved that book when I was little.. in fact, it was one of my favorites. Definitely on par with WTWTA, imo. And significantly greater dough-based-airplane content. |

I just prefer monsters to weird chef things. Plus I think these are particularly solid monsters. |

I was personally a big fan of the Shoe People back in the day.

I think I'm somehow partial to food in unexpected roles, actually; I also loved this one:
I agree, the Pokey Puppy was quality... This one was high on my list too

Am I the only one who has not only never read any of these books, but who has never even heard of them before this thread? _________________ When I am weaker than you, I ask you for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles.

You're black.
I think you should read Where the Wild Things Are before you go see the film. |

OH MY GOD!! I'm torn, because I'm somewhat overjoyed at the prospect of this, and I am totally seeing it in it's 3D glory, but it looks like it is only very very loosely based on the book, which is sad and I fear might sort of ruin the book or make it's existence less sacred. Or something. Some of the same imagery is there though (like similar to actual illustrations from the book), which is nice.
Also... holy crap, how did I not know about this:
I would have been ridiculously happy if this had come out when I was a child. Wow. I need to go find a copy. |
