Yes, exactly. I end up watching shows or playing WoW or whatever and it just never happens.
It's something about music that I can't just do that if there's nothing else involved. Even though I really enjoy it, when it's good. |

The point is, I got suckered back into reading this book.
He says some interesting things, but for every interesting thing or two he has to say... he horrifies the hell out of me with something else horrifying. _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. I'm having a conversation with our good friend Nicholas Dante Lugo, from what I can tell. |

Speaking of music, you need to force Jack Black, Kyle Gass, Lee, and Sasquatch to sit their asses down and write an actual rock album and record and release it.
I think it would be beyond fantastic.
I'm talking fucking Lee. |

The thing is, Sasquatch is a terrible drummer. Also, I really am not a fan of the soundtrack from the Tenacious D movie. It makes me think the first album was a fluke. _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. I never listened to it. That's disappointing then. |

I only heard it when I saw the movie. The first album was a good mix of music and humor, the soundtrack put too much emphasis on the humor.
Cock pushups are funny, but if you go too far in that direction it gets ridiculous and.... fratboy-ish. _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. That does nothing to disprove my theory that a pure rock album by them would be fantastic. |

Look, if you take the cock out of cock pushups all you have left are pushups.
But it probably would be fantastic. _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's because of something collective'. |

Okay, so how about they make an album with 8 real songs and 10 tracks of bullshit? Instead of an album with 2.5 real songs and 18.5 tracks of bullshit. |

I'm up for them making 100% music, 0% comedy. I don't have to buy it if I don't like it, and it would certainly be more daring and interesting.
Returning to the subject of this thread, I just saw the following information in an unrelated book review on Amazon: "Ignore Ellwood [The author of the horrifying book I have been talking about], most serious magicians do".
Apparently it's a really small community who actually cares about non-wiccan magick. _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's because of something collective'. |

This is why my motto is:
Reconstructionism or GTFO. |

Look...
There's no such thing as reconstructionalist western magick, it's still an active, growing field. For example: http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Power-Language-Symbol-Exploration/dp/0738713600/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I3GRUXODZ74OG8&colid=2ZC81HPZBX7G6
It's not a religion at all, so not really much to reconstruct. It'd be like reconstructionalist astronomy where scientists tried to prove the sun rotated around the earth. _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. Fair enough, but I don't run into crazy fanboy bullshit like this.
If it didn't happen 2500 years ago, it can't be worth doing. |
