So I went into the West Virginia DMV regional office down here in Hicks-burg, WV. I was getting my address changed from Wheeling, the city I used to live in, to the country town my mother lives in now. The woman asked me how I liked the country and I said it was nice. Then she said she knew some people in Wheeling and they said it was getting 'a lot dirtier up there, in more ways than one.'
Now, as far as I can tell, she was saying there were too many black people up there for her taste.
So if you want to experience shocking racism in a town that was not part of the South in the civil war...visit Clarksburg, WV.
P.S., I believe this, more than the Pakistan thing, is why we can't have nice things.
I hear what she's saying. I hate black people, too.
Seriously, though... why does it have to get racial? _________________ When I am weaker than you, I ask you for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles.

No, she didn't. But they really don't have much in the way of Native Americans here and haven't for a couple hundred years, so most of that has bled away.
Actually, some guy who was born in this "hollow" that my mother's cabin is in came by today. He's like 80 and I had no idea what he was saying, his speech was incomprehensible. Four of his children still live in this one mile stretch of area and they all married people from the other "clan" as far as I can tell. This place is really scary. I don't think I'll be inviting Vernon over ever, for his safety.

Rural West Virginia isn't high on my travel plan list.
Though, with a good lawyer, any violence against local hillbillies on my part can be paired down to self-defense. _________________ When I am weaker than you, I ask you for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles.
