So, outside of Supreme Commander and Demigod, I haven't actually played a game released in the last four years. I can't help but feel I've been missing something. Is there anything out there worth getting, or am I set just playing the classics? |

Mass Effect and Portal are about all I can think of off the top of my head. I just don't play many video games anymore.
Dead Space was pretty good as well.
Are we looking at just the PC here?
And was Demigod any good at all? _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's because of something collective'. |

Probably just PC. I'm not really in the mood to run off and buy a console. Also, those games aren't usually my thing.
Demigod... delivered what it promised? Honestly, I think the experience is probably different online. There, every game is new and interesting because of the players. For someone (like me) who just plays offline, it's different maps and heroes that make the game interesting, and Demigod is lacking in both. |

Assassin's Creed was released on the PC, I think, as a port. You might like that, it's set in the Crusades. Of course, it's probably inaccurate enough to piss you off.
Blood Bowl is on PC. I haven't tried that.
I can give you a list of disappointing PC games if you want... I think your best bet really is to just wait until Starcraft 2 comes out and play that until Diablo 3 comes out. Hopefully by the time that gets old Blizzard will have their new MMO ready. _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's kind of disappointing that the best gaming advice is: play the next Blizzard game until the next Blizzard game while waiting for the next Blizzard MMO, all the while probably playing the current Blizzard MMO off and on.
Also why aren't we playing Starcraft right now? |

That's only because Chris Taylor is deliberately fucking up Supreme Commander 2:
"That's Chris Taylor's goal for Supreme Commander 2. It's completely counter to the philosophy of both the beloved Total Annihilation and the mighty Supreme Commander."

Man, I can't stand competitive Starcraft. I'm just not fast enough with the build orders and assigning my little dudes to different resource nodes and all that stuff. _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's only hard if the other guy is vastly better than you, which is pretty much the case for me. I've only played it a couple times multiplayer. _________________ ' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's just like any competitive thing, you have to find the competition level that is right for you. That's why something like the WoW arena is good, eventually, since it does actually match you against people your own skill level. And why things like Smash Brothers can be bad since in a limited pool of friends there are scrubs and pros. |
