So what is everyone doing for this beast?

Suggested activities include fireworks and watching this film (if you love America):

I hate America with a hatred I normally reserve for DOOMCom. That said, fireworks and food will take place. Fireworks, food, and booze.

No fireworks for me... in fact... I had to sign a form with me lease (Boulder ordinance) specifically saying that I wouldn't shoot fireworks off the balcony.

It is possible, however unlikely, that I will go to a July 4 party being held by one of the philosophy professors... she invited all the grad students including the incoming ones.

Word on the street is that the city does fireworks in the mountains, and that they can basically be seen from the top of most any building in Boulder... so we'll see. I have no particular love of fireworks, but mayhap I'll check them out if they happen.

I just discovered this thing:

http://events.yahoo.com/summer/2009/index.php

A person could determine how to hit as many fireworks showings as possible in the next several days. Really exciting, imo, since I love fireworks, unlike certain firework-heathens. It's about time, too, because really there was no good way to know exhaustively when/where fireworks are going to be.

That is a lot of money for some fireworks you can see from my apartment.

Um... what? That might just be for seating at the Pops. I've been before and you just have to get there really early in the morning to snag a patch of grass by the river.

Or you can just walk over to the bridge and stand here while the fireworks start.

I really don't appreciate the F-15 flyover they just did, though. It's loud and sounds like the beginning of an invasion.

That was definitely some solid fireworks. And there were about a hundred people out by my lake and dozens of cars parked along the side of a busy but narrow street, which probably wasn't all that safe.
