Didn't I say fuck Spaniards and you questioned it before?
I watched the game, if you count reading a book and looking up about twice an hour when the announcers got excited then falling asleep after the second goal was scored as watching a game. Soccer is an absurdly terrible sport to watch. It suffers from the hockey thing where points come literally out of nowhere for no rhyme or reason, except in soccer it's even harder to score.
Why does the world like that sport?

Apparently, if you beat a team with as many one-name players as Spain, you're doing pretty well.
Once we start beat Europeans in cricket, we can just wrap it up and say that America wins.

Oh wait.
Also, the tournament is awful. The U.S., at 1-2 in the group stage, advanced to the semifinals instead of Italy, a team that was also 1-2 in the group stage, that beat the U.S. Because the tie-breaker is goal differential not, you know, actual games. That would be like playing the NBA playoffs as 21 (1 point for a bucket, 2 for a three-pointer! YEAH!) instead of an actual game. |

| Also there was so much hideous flopping. Guys would not get touched, throw themselves to the ground, then cringe and hold their shin like they had broken it in a thousand places. They'd stay on the ground until whoever from the other team was near them got a "yellow card" whatever that is. Fuck soccer. It made basketball flopping look like a joke. |

Also, the tournament is being played in South Africa somewhere, and their soccer fans blow some local horn thing when their team plays, so they are blowing these weird horns the ENTIRE game. It's the most annoying thing possible to make a terrible sport even worse to watch. It's just this weird buzzing humming horrifying sound all match. |
