To borrow a phrase from the political punditry by which I'm so commonly entertained, this person seems dangerously ignorant of what the phrase 'the benefit of the doubt' means. In context, I'm honestly not sure what the person is trying to get at with the phrase. It seems that he means something more than just 'the same benefit,' but what that might be escapes me.
Seriously, if DC needs more motivation for fixing our schools, I point to this post. The post was (more or less) grammatically correct, but I feel like the above misuse of this phrase indicates a systemic ignorance that we all ought to find frightening. (unless, of course, you hate America... like some of you clearly do)
Mayhap I should give the person the benefit of the doubt...

I almost agree with this. It would be better for everyone if they were less ignorant, and unfortunately people don't always vote the way the right smart people tell them to. |
